WEDDING BELLS.

At the Presbyterian Church, Upper Tutaenui, on the 13th inst., by the Rev. David Gordon, William John, eldest son of Mr Joseph Viles, of Featherston, Wairarapa, was married to Ruth Euphemia, youngest daughter of Mr Charles Meek Galpin, of Sedgecombe..- The bride was dressed in white silk trimmed with satin ribbon, chiffon and pearls. She also wore a gold bangle set with turquoise and pearls, the gift of the bridgeroom, and carried' a beautiful shower bouquet prepared by Mr Hunt, of Marton. She was attended by Miss Ethelwin Viles, sister of the bridgegroom, and a niece, Miss Olive Bainbridge, as bridesmaids. The latter •were dressed in white silk trimmed with white lace to match, with white hats. Each of these young ladies wore a gold brooch set with pearls, the gifts of the bridegroom. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr Arthur Viles, as bestman, and Mr W. J. Bowen as groomsman. Miss Small, a cousin of the bride, played the Wedding March as the. party left the sacred building. At the conclusion of the ceremony the bridal party and guests were entertained at breakfast in a large marquee erected for the occasion by the parents of the bride. After the usual toasts had been duly honored, the happy couple left for Auckland (via Wanganui), where the honeymoon will be spent, amid showers of rice, carrying with them the good wishes of a host of friends. The wedding presents were numerous and valuable, among them being a beautiful silver tea service presented by the members of the congregation of the Presbyterian Church, as some return for the past services of the bride as organist, and a handsome piano, the gift of the bride's parents. The church was beautifully decorated for the occasion. The future residence of Mr and Mrs Viles will be in the Eiwitea, and we join with their many friends in wishing them both long life and much happiness.

A quiet marriage was solemnised at the Hutt Catholic Church on the 6th instant, when Annie, third daughter, of Mr J. T. Standen, of Feilding, was united in the bonds of matrimony to Patrick Leonard, of JohnsonvUle, formerly of Glasgow.
