The Colony's Exports.

Tho monthly circular issued by the Department of Agriculture shows that the exports of meat and dairy produce for the month of December 'from all parts of the colony were as folows : — Butter, 33,650cwt, valued at £133,662 ; cheese, 7873cwt, valued at £18,195 ; beef, lG,s76cwt, valued at £18,997; carcase mutton, 52,268cwt, valued at £5» t iiso, ; legs and pieces 890cwfc, valued at £9-18 ; lamb, 2225cwt, valued at £3r>29. Except for butter, these figures show a considerable shortage on the exports for the corresponding month of 1899, the values of which were as follows :— Butter, £'122,349 ; cheese, £22,664 ; beef £27, 879 ; carcase mutton, £104,059 ; lega and pieces, £2132 ; lamb, £8014. In tho total export f^r the "nine month's; from March 31st, however, there ig still an improvement on last year's figures for the same period, except in mutton, which shows a decrease of £210,891 for the period,
