Rangiwahia Dairy Company.
The Rangiwahia-Ruabine Co-operative Dairy « onipany bas ciosed down its factory for the season and a substantial improvement in its turnover is shown over the worfcing of the previous year. The company started operations on December 23, 1898, and closed down for the first season on May 20, lbyy. Whereas the season just completed commenced on September 30, 1899, and was continued until May 30, 1900. The total quantity of miik received for the season 1898-99 was 578,030 lbs and the but<er fat paid for was 23,315-8 lbs, the aggregate amount received by suppliers being £660 2s Id. For the season 1899-1900 the quantity of milk leceived was 2,321,923 fbs and the butter fat paid tor was 96,026 9 lbs, suppliers receiving £2800 7s. For the second season's operations this »s a very satisfactory increase and is another proof, if such were necessary, of the importance of the dairy industry to the district. Although the butter has had to be carted thirty-five miles to the Feilding railway station the sale returns have been good, while the grader's reports show that those who are responsible for the manufacture and marketing of the commercial product are well up to their business.
