A Singular Death.
Telegraph. Press Association. Copyright Dcnedin, March 13. A death under somewhat singular circumstanc93 occurred at St. Clair Beach this afternoon. John Heartley, a seaman, was seen to undress opposite the Esplan. ade and go into the water. He rolled about among the surf and then stood up. He was seen apparently to fall down, and the rollers carried him out. When examined life was not extinct, but before Dr Watt could arrive from the Forbury Camp the man was dead. He had been employed lately as nightwatchman on the steamer Rimu, and had been drinking somewhat heavily.
