We understand that very satisfactory arrangements have been made to carry out the work of erecting the Otara bridge over the Rangitikei river, near Ohingaiti. The bridge is now to be one span of 322 feet instead of a bridge of 250 feet suspension span and 100 feet trass span. These cloths greatly enhance the artistic effect and finish of the work done by the firm, the backgrounds including seascapes, interiors, Rembrandt-like effects iv portraitare, and interiors. Some new chairs placed in the studio will tend to lighten the task of posing for portraits. Very fine bromide photographic work has recently been done by the firm, an exhibition oJ which is to be given in tbe vestibule in Willis street shortly. Tbe vestibule .:.si-:f is being renovated, tbe decorative <:olonr beiug changed from pink to <4reen, and when this is completed and Mir pictures are arranged for exhibition the display should attract attention.
