Brass Band Contest at Palmerston.

The Marching Competition resulted as follows : — Wellington Garrison, 90J ; Wanganui Garrison, 89£; Waihi, 88£ ; Palmerston, 87 J ; Woodville,Bli; Feilding, 76; Greymouth, 74; Mitchelltown, 72£. An immense concourse of people attended. There was a chilly south-cast breeze during the afternoon. The win was a very popular one. Waihi was a very popular third. The remainder of the solo competitions arc being continued this evening. This Day. The solo competition for the tenor horn, euphonium, and baritone was held last night, but owing to tho number of entries it was impossible for the competition to be closed. It was continued this morning.
