Wanganui Ed ucation Board.

The ordinary monthly meeting of t'ne Wang-uui Education Board commenced Jast Monday ni lit. Present — Messra G. S. iirioge (chairman), J. W. Baker, B. C. Bobbins, F. M. Spurdle, H. Sanson, F. Pirani, F. Y. Leth bridge, and the Rev Jno. Boss. The cash statement showed a credit balance on the general and building accounts of £1655 19s and £593 la lOd respectively. APPOINTMENTS. The Board then went into Committee to consider appointments and other business. Aratika— Appointment of Mr McConnacbie confirmed. Sandon — Miss H. Went appointed pupil teacher. Relieving Teacher — Miss M. Hunger, of Okaiawn, appointed relieving teacher. Ohingaiti — Miss E. Schlagen, cadet, College Street, appointed pupil teacher. Leave of Absence — Leave of absence to attend College and University examinations was granted. Marton — The appointments Misses H. Nutt aud J. Gordon, cadet^ were confirmed. Feilding — The appointment of A. Trevena, cadet, was confirmed. Technical School — Resolved, that the Director of the Technical School receive notice of the termination of his engagement, and that applications he invited by advertisement for the vacancy. Cooking Classes — On the motion of Mr Hanson it was resolved that the charge for both Saturday classes — practical and demonstrative — be £1 per quarter—lt was resolved to thank Messrs J. Thain and Co. lor the gift of an Orion range for the cooking classes. The Board then sat as the Board of Governors of the Girls' College. Mr Sanson moved ths motion of which he had given notice, " That in the next prospectus to be issued, notice be given that the tuition fees at the Girh' College will be four guineas per term for seniors, and three pounds ten shillings for juniors, after the end of the present year."

Mr Firani seconded the motion.

After discussiou the motion was put and lost, Messrs Hanson and Firani voting for und the other six against it.
