Messrs F. R. Jackson aud Co. report : We had a full market of sheep at Wanganui on Thursday, and prices improved on those ruling at last sale. There was a lot of useful store wethers penned, and they elicited good bidding. About 250 head of cattle were sold, being on a par with previous sales. Pigs are still at low values, but the rates obtained on Thursday showed an improvement, good pigs being better worth. We quote : — Cattle— Small fat cows, ±'3 16s; steers, £1 10s to £'6 ; store cows, £1 4s 6d ; weaners, 26s 6d ; calves, 16s. Sheep — Fat wethers, 10s 7d ; good stores, 9s to 9s 9d ; others, 8s Id to 8s lid ; small wethers, 7s 6d ; fat ewes, 8s 6d ; mixed, 9s 9d ; lambs, 4s lid; culls, 2s 9d. Pigs— Baconers, 23s to 34s ; others, 17s to 21s; pork, 14s to 16s. PoultryFowls, 2s 6d to 3s ; turkeys, 6s 6d to 10s the couple. Messrs Gorton and Son report : — Both sheep and cattle mustered freely at Feilding yesterday. Cattle consisted principally of fat and forward cows, for which no demand existed. "Young cattle, however, sold well at recent rates. Wethers were well competed for and all yarded sold. Lambs were easier than of late, and we turned ont two pen unsold. We quote : Cattle — Weaners 25s to 27s 6d, small weaners 11s to 18s, forward cows £3 to £3 11s, 18-months heifers 355, Sheep — Forward wethers 9s 7d to 10s, stores 8s 3d to 8s 7d, fat ewes Bs, fat and forward 7s 6d, forward empty ews 6s to 7s 3d, good shorn lambs 4s 8d to 5s 3d, woolly 5s 2d, 2-tooth ewes in lamb 7s, mixed ages 3s 6d to 7s 6d, cull ewes 2s Id, cull wethers 4s 7d.
