To-day Mr Hamilton, seedsman, had on view a really well selacted assortment of camehas just bursting into bloom, but all ready for planting. The Catholics of the Wanganui district are taking measures to make a presentation in November next to the Very Rev Father Kirk on the silver anniversary of his taking over the parochial district, which extends from Wanganui on to the one side to Turakina, Marton, Bulls, Hunterville and Ohingaiti on the other, the whole of which will contribute to tho presentation. Mr G. W. Russell intends to move in committee of the House that the duty be taken off tea in bulk altogether, and that a duty of 2d per lb be put on packet teas. A farewell social was held in the schoolroom, Campbelltown, on Friday evening last, by tho Wesleyan choir, to Miss O'Brian who uns leaving for Foxton. The social was an exceedingly enjoyable one, choruses being rendered by the Sandon and Compbelltown choirs (the latter of which Miss O'Brian was a member), and other vocal items were also well rendered. A solo " I cannot mind my wheel, mother," with harp accompanied by Miss JS'eilson; "The Last Muster" by Mr St:-vens ; Tell me my Heart "' by Miss Renel ; " Peace and War," a duet, by Mr J. Anderson and Mr J. Sanson. A presentation was then made to Miss O'Brian from the members of the Wesleyan choir, by the Roy W. Keall with a suitable speech, Mr Sanson al?o speaking in high terms of Miss O'Brian, and Mr C Bowater responded on behalf of the recipient. After the presentation several more vecal items were rendered, and at ihe conclusion the party repaired to an excellent rrpasfc which had been proyuled by the choir.
