Primitive Methodist Church.

On Sunday last the anniversary sermons were preached in the abovementioned church by Mr W. S. Maslin, M.H.R. The sermons were full of Gosp el truth, and were much enjoyed by the large congregations which attended, and in the evening many were unable to gain ad mission. Last evening the anniversary tea was held in the Temperance Hall and was well patronised. The fables, which were all well supplied with the things usually found at a tea meeting, were presided over as follows : — No. 1, Mrs R. Trevena's table — Mrs Gower, Mrs Milner, Mrs H. Trevena ; No. 2, Mrs J. C. Thompson and Misses Thompson; No. 3, Mrs Gould's table — Miss Heald and Miss Gould ; No. 4, Mrs Fidlerand Miss Fidler ; No. 5, Mrs Cocker and Mrs Toy. The public meeting, which followed the tea, was held in the church and was well attended. Mr Gould was in the chair. Interesting and instructive, addresses were given by the Revs. MrMurray and Mr Judkins, Mr Adams, and Mr Wood. The choir, under the able leadership of Mr D. Sirupson, rendered some musical items in a creditable manner. Mrs J. 0. Thompson presided at the organ. The Rev. J. Cocker, in moving a vote of thanks, sincerely thanked his ministerial brethren for the welcome they had accorded him, and hoped all the churches would prosper abundantly. The anniversary has been a good one.
