It is reported that Oscar Wilde became insane when his head was shaved and he had to be confined in a padded room. Two hundred and forty -three sheep arrived alive in good condition by the Woolloomooloo. They have not yet been sold. The Directors of the Oddfellows' Society have agreed that the time has arrived for the formation of a female lodge. The New Zealand and Australian Land Company has declared a dividend of 3 per cent. Russia is reported to be sending two battalions of infantry, six mountain batteries, and eight sotnias of Cossacks Ura Tepe, within eighty miles of the Chitral frontier. The Daily Chronicle says it is reported that Mr W. Abraham, M.P. for Rhondda, and chief agent for the miners of South Wales for twenty-two years, has been offered the position of Government Arbiter in Labor Disputes in Australia.
