Murderous Attack on a Spanish Governor.
THE ASSAILANT TO BE SHOT. IPEE PBESS ASSOCIATION*. Madrid, June 4. Clavijo, an infantry Captain, shot and wounded the Marquis Estella, Governor of Madrid. The outrage was committed at the midday reception, and the offender was wounded by the Governor's aide de camp with a sabre. Clavijo, who was given into custody, admits that for some time past he hated the Governor, who had prevented him marrying a lady on the grounds that he was married already. Clavijo has been condemned to be shot, and the sentence will be carried out to day.
