The Dean Murder Case.
(PBU PRESS ASSOCIATION) Invehcargijj-,, June 3. At the inquest on the body of Eva | Hornsby, the infant found buried in the garden at Dean's house at Winton, which was continued to-day, the evidence showed that Minnie Dean got ! the child and £9 10s from its grandmother, between Milburn and Claren- | den, on the 2nd May ; that she left the train on the opposite side, and that the child was not seen afterwards alive. Letters which Mrs Dean wrote to Mrs j Hornsby were also produced, and the j clothing found in Dean's house was , identified. To Detective McGrath the woman admitted that she got a child between Invercargiil aud Dunedin in tie month of May, but said she was acting as agent for a person at Milton, to whom she handed it. Evidence was i given that she had a baby at Milton and did not leave her seat at the station. The inquest will be concluded to morrow.
