The banking returns of the Australian Colonies show the position to be much strengthened since 1893, when there were JL'M proprietory capital per AIOO as compared with per £100 now- The net earnings shown by the last two halfyearly dividend payments by the banks not reconstructed decreased as compared with 1893 by £163,000.
