Last night the monthly meeting of the Feilding Band of Hope was held in the Temperance Hall. Tho attendance was good, the hall being full, whilst the behaviour was all that could be desired. The programme was an exceptionally good one and reflected great credit upon tho managing committee, whilst each performer rendered his or her part in a creditable manner. Recitations were given by Messrs J. Fow, Harold Eade, Ernest Hodge, Leslie Thompson, J. B. Merrett, and Misses Eva Carthew, Ilene Garlick, and Bertha Fidler, a dialogue by eight members of the Band of Hope, and a recitation by Mrs Cocker; p.anoforte solo, Miss Ranger ; instrumental solo, Mr 11. Wickham ; two violin duets by Miss Ross and Miss Valentine ; song, Harry Hodge. The choir, under the leadership of Mr Bartholomew, rendered a number of suitable pieces. Mr H. Curran gave an address. The Rev J. Cocker presided, but left out his address until a future occasion. A number of pledges were taken at the close of the meeting. The meeting was a remarkably good one, and the votes of thanks at the close were heartily giyen, for the audience felt they had been both entertained and instructed.
