Volunteer Items.

The Manchester Rifles were inspected last night by Lieut-Col. Newall. There was a full muster of officers, non-commis-sioned officers and men. After the usual inspection the corps was exercised by Lieuts. Bray and Halcoinbe, Sergts. Milson, Pesherick, Aitken, Bojd, Parker in company movements, manual exercise, guard-mounting, etc., and some good work was done. At the conclusion of the parade, LieutCol. Newall made feeling reference to the death of General Feilding, and Captain Kirton was instructed, by resolution, to forward a letter of condolence to Mrs Feilding, in ber bereavement, in the name of the officers and men of the corps.
