The Bulls Club were defeated at t Palmerston on Saturday by the Kill * Kahas by 9 points to 7. The Pirates ware beaten at Awahuri on Saturday by 7 points to nil. The tries were scored by Kiwi and Greig, one of which was converted by Ellis. Mr Gordon JLloyd acted as referee in his usual impartial manner. On Saturday night a large number of members of the Palmerston Football Club assembled at ; the Club Hotel for the purpose of presenting Mr E. J. Kelleherj who has been honorary secretary of the club for the past two years, with a token of their appreciation of the excellent services rendered by him during his term of \ office. The souvenir (says the Stand- I ard) was in the shape of a very handsome solid silver cigarette case, bearing the following incription: "Presented to E. J. Kelleher by the members of the Palmerston Football Club, June 22nd, 1893." Mr Kelleher is now a resident in Feilding. The New Zealanders in Australia have now played eight matches,,winning seven and losing one. The number or; points soored ; are : (For* 128; against, 39. '
