I BOEOUGH FOOTPATHS. TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAK Sir,— -On reading your report of the , Borough Council meeting, I was rather \ surprised to see the proposal carried to . make the footpath in Grey street in front of certain properties, including those of our ( worthy Mayor and Councillor S. J. Thompson. Surely our City Fathers must haye bad memories, for only a short time ago when some ratepayers in Manchester street applied for help to do away with that great danger, and unsightly drain, opposite the school, the reply given was: "No funds." Surely £10 would be better spent on a work like the Manchester street drain, where ratepayers haye to make three bridges to enable them to get into their sections, than in making fancy footpaths. — I am, &c, No Favor Ratepayer.
