Mail Arrangements
The following, arranjeraonts have been made by the Postmaster-General with regard "to the dates of departure ot the mail steamers ,to Europe:— The departure of the 'Frisco mail will be pprmnnently changed to fiv.> day? later thai, here ofore. The departure of the Direct Service will ' be delayed from Thursday to Saturday. This, however, is a presen* arrnntjempnt only, as in the interests of the whole col ony a further delay of two days in the Direct Service will be neeessnry, and this point is still under co- sideration. It was always recognised that the dates of departure of the "Frisco steamers were cm ' tingent on the. dates of departure of the -'Direct mail Veamers bein,' altered also, .thereby ensuring a fortnightly mail ?ei» • rice.— Post :
