Anniversary Day
The forty-seventh anniversary of the arrival of the first settlers in New Zealand at Wellington was celebrated very quietly a< Feilding. All of the places of I'usiuess were closed and nearly the u-h<«kt <»f tke residents went on pleasure bent, either to the Foxton Races, Wangauui, Wellington, or to private picnics i« the bush where the shade of the trees afforded pleasaut protection from the scorching rays of the sun.
