AT PALMERSTON
The company went to Palmerston last night by special train, and played at the Theatre Eoyal to a. most appreciative audience. Although several of the Lovesick Maidens and Dragoons were unable to be present, yet the performance was quite equal to the proceeding ones. A splendid and most gratifying reception was accorded them, the applause during the evening was frequent and hearty. Miss Atkins, Miss Jiray, Mr Hartgill, and Mr Gilmer receiving encores. The only event which marred the pleasure of the visit was when a party of larrikins who had assembled, at the stage door, threw among the ladies performing, a bucket of dirty water, with the result that several of the dresses were spoiled. This was a cowardly piece of wanton, mischief and was the cause, of m.v.<& unpleasant remark.
