STEVENS AND GORTON'S STOCK REPORT.

Excepting for good wethers in wool, there is no change to report as regards rates at our two last sales, at Palmerston on the 7th, and Bulls yesterday. They were both large sales but the bidding for cattle was not so brisk at either as usual, for sheep there was a good demand. We had large entries and sold a large quantity of stock at each sale. We quote as follows : — Cattle. — Palmerston : Forward bullocks, £5 6s 6d, £5 6s, and £5 ss ; 3 and 4-year steers, £4 11s 6; 3 -year steers, £4 ; 2-year steers, £3 to £3 ss ; fat cows, £4 ; milkers £4 10s to £4 12s 6d ; springing heifers £2 10s to £3; 18-month steers: £2 9s; mixed yearlings, 395. Bulls: Pat bullocks, £6" to £6 7s 6d; fat cows and heifers, £4 4s 6a ; 2£ to 3-year steers, £3 9s ; 2-year steers, £3 ; year and 18---month steers, £2 10s ; forward cows, £2 15s ; yearling heifers, 22s to 30s 6d. Sheep. — Palmerston : 2 and 4-tooth wethers in wool, 11s ; hoggets in wool, 7s 6d to 8s 6d ; shorn store wethers, 6s lOd. Bnlls : Pat wethers in wool, 13s to 13s 6d, shorn, 8s 6d ; shorn store wethers, 6s 9d; hoggets in wool, 8s 6d; mixed sheep, 5s lid. Bulls, 13th October, 1886.
