Drowned on the Waitara Bar.
' (PER UNITED PBESS ASBOCtATIOJC.) New Plymouth, This Day. Intelligence has reached town from Waitara that the cook of the schooner Colonist, having lost his passage, took the harbourmaster's boat from her moorings for the purpose of crossing the bar and catching the vessel, which had left fifteen minutes previous. On reaching the bar the boat capsized.
