PAINFUL ACCIDENT AT ASHURTS.
4 ( FEOM A COBBESPONDENT.) j Ashubst, Yesterday. A man named Carey, a bullock driver in the employ of Messrs Warne & Beard, of Ashurst, was seriously iniured by a bullock when yoking up his team. In attempting to rip its yoke-mate the beast made a thrust with its horn, and wounded Carey in the face terribly. The flesh was torn from the i*aw and the teeth broken and thrust into the mouth. The bleeding was considerable, bnt was temporarily staunched by bandages. He was then takm very kindly by Mr T W. K. Foster, of Feilding, by trap to Palmerston. where he is now in the hands of a surgeon.
