Goodbchcre has very kindly supplied us with the following: — "Those who wish to observe this rare and interesting phenomenon, which takes place to-morrow, and will not occur again for 115 years, must be up early in the moms ing. It commences at 2.15 p.m. to-day, (Greenwich mean time), and ends at 8 p.m. ; but as New Zealand time is about 11 \ hours in advance of Greenwich time, (he transit will not be seen here, fill tomorrow morning, (he 7th inst., when the sun will rise about h past 4, with the planet (having the appearance of a round black spot) on his face. It commences at 1 .45 a.m., _NY Z. time, and ends at 7.:H) a.m.
