Harry Garrett, a notorious character, who has recently been released from gaol after undergoing a 20 years' sentence for house breaking in Dunedin, was caught breaking into a house last night, lie was taken to the police depot, and when searched a number of keys were found on him so filed as to lit any lock. At the adjourned meeting of Singer's creditors, an offer by debtor of 8s in the pound wns made. The meeting by a majority, resolved that unless 10s in the pound be guaranteed by Monday, the debtor be compelled to file.
