RAILWAY RETURNS.
We compile the following from the Government Gazette of 21st inst., giving the traffic returns for the four weeks ending August 19th, 1882, on the Wanganui i section of railway :
It is obvious that the decrease in revenue here exhibited results entirely from the fact of the timber trade to the noith having been interrupted during the above J period. Now that communication is reopened, a corresponding increase may be expected during the current period. J
