We take the following extracts from the circular ot the f^ew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, for the month of Aufuit :->— ' ' ' 1■ ' ■ - Wool. • ■' ; As regards ' local market*, the - 'pal^tr month htas 'been' quite barren of interest, but the advices brought \tj each, succeed- ; ing mail of the progress of the May- June ■cries in London, have excited considerable attention amongst, growers and ,ihippers. It it fomnd that the cabled reports - regarding the diminished values of coarse cross-breeds < and long-woolß are fully confirmed by the result of sales. Twentyfive per cent, of our flocks now carry long-wools and with such an impetus to gracing as is anticipated from the Frozen Meat trade so rapidly developing itself, the proportion will, doubtless, become greater.
