VE-Day Celebration Dances. Victory in Europe celebralion dances will he held in the Masonic and Oddfellows’ Halls, Pukekohe, tonight. admission being free, while a dance will be held in the Tuakau Town Hall tomorrow (Thursday) night. Wesley College Cricket Champions. The 1944-45 Franklin Cricket Association’s championship for the Warin Cup has been won by Wesley College. While playing Rugby football for Ihe Bombay .junior team al Bombay, on Saturday. .Mr Andrew .lames Holmes, farmer, of Bamarama. suffered a broken left leg. After receiving attention he was admitted to Ihe Auckland Hospital where he is reported to be progressing salisfaelorily. Tuakau Labour Party Dance. Despite inclement weather and counter attractions, (here was a fair attendance at Ihe Tuakau Labour Parly’s dance in the. Oddfellows' hall on Saturday night. The music by Geo. McGuire's orchestra was all Ilia! could be desired and extras by Mrs V. List were appreciated. Mr ,1. Kelly was an el'litdenl master of ceremonies. A Motile Carlo wall/, was won by Miss Dromgool and Mr B. Clarke. Supper was served and enjoyed.
