AIRMAN MISSING
FLYING MEDAL WINNER FLIGHT-SERGEANT F. E. GATLAND Plight-Sergeant Frank Ellison Gatland. Ji.F.M., reported missing on upend ions, is the husband of Mrs D. N. Gotland, of Drury, and the son of -Mr A. R. Gotland, also of Drury. He was hoi-ti al Onchmiga in 101.7 and was educated al Ihe Auckland Grammar School. He began bis Air Force training in IP LI and won Ihe D.F.M. last November. il being staled that ihrougliouf many operational sorties lie had shown a fine example to all associated with him. He had been captain' of an aircraft detailed to attack Genoa, and in spite of heavy cloud and much ground (ire he pressed home the attack from a low level.
