DEALING WITH EMERGENCIES WOMEN OFFER. TO HELP “When farmers who are members of either the Home Guard or the E.P.S. organisations walk out of the front gate. 1o do their duty they may be away from their farms for many days or weeks.” This is the position envisaged by women in the Morrinsville district, and at last meeting of their Division it- was decided to establish a “Farmers’ Aid Section.” and to suggest that it lie brought, under the E.P.S. organisation in order to have the official backing of the regulations. The Chief Warden at Morrinsville, it. was stated, was agreeable to this course. Tn particularsing the class of work that could be undertaken by women in a temporary emergency especial stress was placed on the milking and feeding of dairy cows. The secretary of the branch stated that the scheme was being enthusiastically supported in Morrinsville.
It was resolved at last executive meeting in Auckland to refer the matter to the Southern Thames Conference with a view to the incorporation of any recommendations they may make to the Provincial Conference of the Union in May.
