CATTLE FAIR AT TUAKAU
OVER 600 HEAD OFFERED
Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report that at their autumn cattle fair at Tuakau on Monday, over 600 head were penned. Buyers were present from all parts of the province, and, under a very keen demand, the offering was disposed of at values showing a decided improvement on those ruling at other recent sales. Three and a half year-old Polled Angus and Hereford steers brought £8 15s to £0 12s: forward 2-J-year-old Polled Angus steers, £0 to £9 10s: others. £8 6s to £8 9s: 18-month Polled Angus steers, £6 to £6 7s 6d: 18-month Shorthorn steers, £5 17s: 18-month Polled Angus heifers, £4 8s: empty Polled Angus and Hereford cows, £5 6s to £6 19s: empty 24-year Polled Angus and Hereford heifers, £5 4s: 24-year Polled Angus heifers, r.w. Polled Hereford bull. £5 10s: Polled Angus cows, r.w. Polled Angus bull, £4 17s 6d to £5 11s: weaner Polled Angus steers, £8 7s to £5 2s: weaner Polled Angus heifers, £2 ‘to £3 10s: fat heifers, to £8 6s: fat cows, to £8 ss.
