A TERRIBLE SECTION
GROWTH 3FT. HIGH .JUST HARBOURS VERMIN EIGHT RATS CAUGHT “A sort ol' lo.cal jungle,” was Hie description by u resident in a letter to the Papakura Borough Council last week when explaining ol' a section in Cole’s Crescent next to where he resided. The writer, Mr F. C. Firman, slated Hie growth to he Git. high, and that the section only harboured vermin. He had caught eight rats; also a stray cow got in, he said. It was staled by a member ol' the council that the idea was to burn it off, but he didn’t know quite how the council could burn off sections. Mr F. H. Brownhill: We can do anything with noxious growth.
Mr L). J. Graham advised the owner to graze a cow or cultivate a garden and keep Hie place tidy. lie moved that the owner’s attention be drawn to Hie bad state ol' the section with a request to make an effort to put it in better order.
It was decided to adopt Mr Graham’s suggestion and write the owner wilii a request to do something to improve the section.
