Vicar Has a “Spot or Two.” “I don’t, know why you should laugh,” said Bishop Stephenson, himself smiling, when the Nelson Synod, with merry sympathy, granted leave of absence to the Rev. R. C. Nicholson (Collingwood), who had a “spot or two at the week-end” (i.e.. measles) says the Nelson Mail.
Australian Deserters. Regulations have been gazetted providing for the apprehension in New Zealand of deserters and absentees from the naval, military, and air forces of the Australian Commonwealth. Such deserters and absentees may, however, only be apprehended at the expressed request of the Commonwealth authorities, and when so apprehended will be handed over to the naval, military, or aviation authorities, as the case may be.
