Had the “Wind Up.”

Signs ol' “windiness” among the crew of Die German raider on which he. was a prisoner were observed by Mr IV .1. Stiles, of the Holmwood’s crew, when what he described as a ‘‘false alarm” occurred. Apparently if was thought that a warship was in the neighbourhood, because "buzzers" were sounded throughout the raider, calling the crew to action stations. Some of the Germans had to pass the prisoners at the fop of the stairway. “They looked very white and anxious,” said Mr Stiles, “and generally showed signs of windiness.”
