Camp Commandant, Lieutenant-Colonel ' G S. White. The meeting was presided over by ! Colonel G. W. P. Grattan, chief secretary of the Salvation Army in New ■ i aland. Speakers included Colonel J. Hardest. M.P., who spoke of the good work done by the Salvation Army in the last war. and Lieutenant-Colonel N. L. Maisky. M.G.. officer commanding the 21st Rifle Battalion. Speaking on behalf of the Papakura branch of the Franklin Returned Soldiers' Association. Mr G. H. Davis said lie was glad to see Adjutant S. Smith, officer in charge of the hut, wearing an R.S.A. badge (the adjutant was badly wounded in the last war). Mr Davis made a presentation of some war-time sketches for hanging on the walls. The hall which is about 75ft by r>oft. is well fitted up for the comfort ancl welfare of the soldiers. It, has a kitchenette where supper can be made for the boys at night. A bill'ord table has been installed. There are also comfortable chairs and setlees and facilities for playing other table games. There is also a platform for concerts.
