PAPAKURA BOROUGH
WORKS CARRIED OUT NEW SUED AT PARK The borough foreman, Mr M. Finn, reported to the last council meeting that the side roads had had attention from the grader. Hunua highway was being scarified and graded as requested by the Highways Board engineer. The cleaning of drains on Settlement road was stated to he rearing completion. A good deal of work had been carried out on the centennial grounds. The cemetery grounds and soldiers' memorial had been brougbl hack to quite a good standard. The shed authorised on Prince Edward Park had been built and painted. With regard to faulty lights an electrician advised that the trouble was caused by vibration and the other by dampness in the switches.
General maintainanee of roads and footpaths had been rather neglected as the staff had had a large programme of work to attend to and proper attention had been impossible lately.
