RIFLE SHOOTING
CLEVEDON DEFENCE CLUB Adverse weather conditions, with prolonged showers,' made shooting very unpleasant for members of the Cievedon Defence Rifle Club last Saturday when they carried out a double trophy shoct on the 200 yards and 300 yards ranges. . The competition for the No. 4 trophy was commenced, each member allotting his own handicap. Trophy points awarded were: G. R. Munro 4. T. N. Murray 3, G. H. Alexander 2, It. 11. Munro 1. The other competition was the comP < ! !,, n of No. 2 trophy, the first day’s shoot for which had been postponed several times owing to inclement weather. Tn this tlie silver spoon and Tisdall button were awarded to 1,. H. Browne. Trophy points were awarded to the following: L. H. Browne 4, G. H. Alexander 3, G. R. Munro 2, H. H. Munro 1 The grand total of points for the trophy gave T. N. Murray a win with a total of 7 trophy points, followed by A. E. Broderick 4, L. H. Browne 4, N. L. Munro 4, G. H. Alexander 3, G. R. Munro 2, D. Renall 2, H. G. Kimpton 2, H .H. Munro 1. Details of the scores off the rifle were: D. Renall. 44. 49 —93: L. H. Browne. 46. 47—93: T. N. Murrav, 47. 39—86: H. H. Munro, 42. 42—84; 0. R. FOURTH TROPHY MATCH
The fourth trophy of the Cievedon Defence Rifle Club’s programme was concluded last Saturday. The targets were set for 500 and 600 yards ranges. A strong cross wind w r as blowing but both it and tbe light were fairly steady. Members allotted their own handicap and some keen shooting resulted. .Trophy points were awarded-to G. Deery 4. N. L. Adams 3 on a count back from C. Deery, 11. G. Kimpton 2. G. B. Munro 1. G. B. Munro was the winner of the trophy 7 with a grand total of five points, -followed by C. Deery 4, T. N. Murray 3, N. L. Munro 3 G. H. Alexander 2. H. G. Kimpton 2. H. TI. Munro 1. Running concurrently with these shoots is a competition for a cup donated by Mr Carr for the greatest number of trophy 7 points scored during the season by a member who lias r.ot won a trophy. The three best scores, self-handi-capping. were: C. Deery. 44, 43. 12 —99; N. L. Munro. 45. 34, 20—99; TF G. Kimpton. 46. 42, 10 —98. The three best scores off the rifle w r ere: D. Renall. 44, 48—92: L. H. Browne. 47. 45 —92: A. E. Broderick, 43: 43—91.
