Much Enthusiasm Among the Members
GOLF CLUB’S MEETING SOUND FINANCIAL POSITION OFFICERS FOR 1939 Much enthusiasm prevailed at the annual meeting of the Pukekohe Golf Club held last evening. The president, Mr Jas. Roulston, senr., presided over a large attendance. The balance sheet showing the club to be in a healthy financial position, and the captain’s comprehensive report (which will be published on Monday), were adopted. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr Jas. Roulston, senr.; vice-presidents, Messrs A. Schlaepfer and C. G. Johnson; captain, Mr M. R. Grierson; vice-captain, Dr. H. S. Douglas ; secretary, Mr C. Hansen; treasurer, Mr L. M. Jobson; handicappers and selectors, Messrs H. T. Moore and J. Niccol; auditor, Mr M. S. Campbell; committee, Messrs In G. Sharp, P. Mills, J. Niccol, K. Liddle and H. T. Moore; match committee, Messrs T. S. Marshall, K. Liddle and F. Lumsden; delegates to Franklin Golf Association, Messrs H. T. Moore and M. R. Grierson.
The ladies’ club: President, Mrs I. A. Motion; vice-presidents, Mrs A. T. Begg; captain, Miss L. Potter; vicecaptain, Mrs H. T. Moore; secretary, Mrs L. M. Jobson; handieapper and selector, Mrs F. W. Lumsden; committee, Mrs M. R. Grierson, Mrs P. Mills, Mrs N. M. Bradanovich, Mrs J. Adams and Miss N. Savident; match committee, Mrs H. T. Moore, Mrs N. M. Bradanovich and Mrs P. Mills. The fixing of the opening day was left to the committee.
The subscriptions for the ensuing year were fixed at the same figure as last year, viz., playing members, ladies £2 17s 6d, reducible to £2 12s 6d if paid by June 30; men, £4, reducible to £3 15s; limited members, ladies, 10s 6d; men, £1 Is; country members, ladies, £1 17s 6d, reducible to £1 12s 6d; men, £2 7s 6d reducible to £2 2s; juniors, boys, 15s; girls, 10s 6d; intermediate, men, £2; ladies, £1 10s. An additional fee for competitions of 5s for men and 3s 6d for ladies was decided on. It must be paid before members are eligible to take part in competitions.
Mr C. Cooper gave notice of his intention to move at next' annual meeting that the rules be altered to provide for the number on the general committee to be increased from five to seven.
The meeting closed with votes of thanks to the chairman, the Press and eiftgoing officers.
