QUEEN CARNIVAL
UNITED DISTRICTS’ CANDIDATE MOST SUCCESSFUL CONCERT A very successful concert was held in the Drury hall on Wednesday, Marcli 15, in aid of funds for the United Districts’ Queen, Miss Jessie Parker. The hall was decorated in the Queen's colours, blue and silver, and Captain W. J. Brooks occupied the chair. Mrs J. A. Paterson (Opaheke) arranged an enjoyable programme as follows: Mr and Mrs T. 11. Midgley, pianoforte duets: Miss Fahey, pianoforte solo; Miss Moore, Miss Clarke, Mrs Fenner and Mr Hilton King and Mr Colin Wood, songs; Mrs Harold King, Maori songs; Miss Warren and Miss Fahey, humorous sketches; Miss Blair, Miss Mcßoberts, Miss Sullivan, and Miss Tennant, dances.
At the conclusion of the concert Miss Parker thanked the artists and audience for their help and support. The performers were entertained to a very dainty supper by the committee.
