MAORI WOMEN’S CLUB
AN INTERESTING MEETING BIRTHDAY PARTY ARRANGED - There was an excellent attendance of members and friends at - the last monthly meeting of the Pukekohe , Maori Women’s Club held at the Maori ! rest room. Mrs Raiha Nepia presid- ' ed. I A most interesting talk on first aid was given by Mrs E. Landon of Puni, who described treatment for burns, in- ■ juries to hands or knees, fish bone in throat, bleeding nose, foreign matter in eye, and bruises. At the close of her talk Mrs Landon demonstrated the use of the triangular bandage, the Maori mothers present proving apt -PUl>jlg_,in Jhe jigt of bandaging. ; The making of fable mats was demonstrated by Mrs Lewis Morgan, whose work was greatly admired. Eight members either bought, or ordered, frames on which to make mats for themselves. Items for the birthday party, arranged by Mrs Cullen, were rehearsed, and added greatly to the afternoon’s enjoyment. x Mrs Longwill and the Misses Polly Nepia and Hoeta acted as hostesses. At a meeting of the committee, arrangements for the first birthday party to be held on March 25 were completed.
