The “Purple Patch” at the Masonic Hall

A BLAZE OF COLOUR

DECORATIONS A FEATURE

NATIONAL LEAGUE’S FUNCTION

The Masonic hall presented a kaleidoscope of colour on Wednesday evening when the Pukekohe Junior National League held a grand fancy dress dance.

The decorative scheme carried outin red, white and blue effects with tunings of purple, made a picturesque background for the many colourlul costumes which typified ingenuity and originality. Emblazoned across the orchestral stage was the National Party slogan: “Not for one class alone, but for the Nation, the National Party,” while near the entrance in bold caption was the greeting, “Welcome.” The supper-room was also tastefully decorated. A sit-down supper of salads and savouries was served, three sittings being necessary to accommodate the throng of dancers. Music was supplied by Moody’s orchestra, the members of which were appropriately attired as “Nigger Minstrels.” Extras were contributed by Mr L. Ovens. Mr .1. 11.
