MAYOR PERFORMS CEREMONY
Before an attendance of over 200, I lie Mayor, Mr S. Evans, officially declared the Papalcura Greyhound Racing Club’s season open, and in doing so congratulated the club on its successful commencement of activities. The Mayor, before officially declaring Ihe track open, presented the club with a handsome silver cup for competition in any class the executive cared to choose. The Mayor was accompanied by the deputy-Mayor, Mr 11. Montgomerie, and Messrs A. Parris, A. Burgess, D. J. Graham, D. McKenzie and G. B. Bryant, members of the council. The track was in good order, weather conditions ideal, and some exciting racing was witnessed. Results were:—

Novice race: Air Flow (Mr Watson) 1, Our Peggy (Mr Civil) 2, Sonny X (Mr A. Forbes) 3; time, 21 15s. Limit race: Our Peggy (Mr Civil) 1, Golden Promise (Mr W. Watson) 2; time, 225.
Open race: Dollar Bill (Mr Robertson) 1, Skittle (Mr Kilgour) 2, Sylvia Wildfire (Mr Hodgkinson) 3; time, 20 4-ss.
Consolation race: Wanderlust (Mr Durno) 1, Mighty Fluke (Mr Fletcher) 2, Desiree (Mr Pollock) 3; time, 21 3-ss.
Consolation open: Skittle (Mr Kilgour) 1, Sylvia Wildfire (Mr Hodgkinson) 2, Scotland 3; time, 21s. Puppy race, first heat: Sasanoff (Mr Kilgour) 1, Lady Skittle (Mr Hodgkinson) 2, Star (Mr Robertson) 3; time, 23 3-ss. Second heat: Elk (Mrs Kilgour) 1; time, 23 l-ss. Anglican Euchre Party. Prize winners at last week’s Anglican euchre evening were as follows: Men, Mr Moss 1; ladies, Mrs Dover Farrant. Men’s consolation, Miss Bates; ladies’ consolation, Mrs Newnham; points prize, Mrs D. Farrant.
