Annual Miniature Ball a Great Success.

LAST NIGHT’S FUNCTION. ENJOYABLE TIME SPENT. SLIPPER WAS A FEATURE. Despite counter attractions in various parts of the district and Pukekohe’s heavy week socially, there was an attendance of about 200 at the miniature hall, arranged by the St. Andrew’s guild, and held in the Masonic hall last evening. The hall was simply, hut prettily decorated with nikau fronds, peach blossom and flowers. The music, which was all lhat could he desired, was supplied by Hulme’s orchestra, extras being played by Miss K. Cronin and Mr L. Holt. A Monte Carlo waltz .was won by Miss Norma Reid of Auckland, and Mr E. W. Dyer, and a mystery polonaise by Mrs H. Pleydeil and Mr G. Fausett.

A feature of the evening was the delicious sit down supper provided and served by the members and wellwishers of St. Andrew’s chui’ch. The tables, gorgeously decorated with flowers, and loaded with appetising delicacies, presented a pleasing spectacle.

Socially and financially the function was a pronounced success, ar.d great credit is due to the guild president, Mrs G. R. Willis, and her band of willing helpers, who spared no time and effort to achieve their objective. It is expected the returns will be on a par with those of last year.
