League Football Match at Te Kohanga.
MAORI TEAMS IN ACTION. ATTENDANCE OF OVER 500. ■ A Rugby League match played at To Kohanga during the week-end result id in the Waikato Maori team defeating the Auckland Maori representative team by 43 points to 30. The game, which was a thrilling one, was witnessed by over 500, including King Koriko and his party. The Auckland team included Lou. Brown, the well-known international; L. Kawe, a member of last year’s Maori team: S. Watene, a New Zealand representative; and several other prominent provincial players. Hemi, the Maori fullback, was present, but owing to an injury he was not able to take part in the game. The Auckland Maori team is to play the Auckland representatives on the King’s birthday. Following the match the teams were entertained at Tauranganui. LOWER WAIKATO SUB-LEAGUE. Mr G. Hunt, president of the City Rovers Club, has presented a gold medal for the most improved player in Te Kohanga team. The draw for next Saturday is: Manaia v. Te Kohanga, at Manaia: Mercer v. Huia, at Mercer.
