LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
THE GAME AT PAPAKURA.
SATURDAY’S RESULTS. Stallard cup: Papakura 14, Mt. Albert 11. Fourth grade: City 22, Papakura 9. The Papakura senior B team, having won the knock-out competition, has been included with the senior reserve grade teams in a competition for the Stallard cup. The first game was played at Papakura on Saturday and resulted in Mt. Albert being defeated by a narrow margin. The win was all the more meritorious through the local team playing with 12 men for most of the second half and with only 11 for the last 15 minutes. Both Smith and Len Taylor retired with injuries, the latter suffering from concussion after a knock-out resulting from a tackle. It is understood the local seniors have arranged a tour to play at Whangarei on a Saturday in the near future. The trip is being eagerly looked forward to by the members and should prove an enjoyable outing. Most of the expenses have already been contributed by supporters and there is no doubt the trip will be undertaken -with out undue financial hardship on the players.
