NOTES FROM PUNI.
MOST ENJOYABLE DANCE. The Puni hall was the scene of much merriment on Wednesday evening, the attraction being a dance arranged by the Puni branch of the women’s division. Despite the inclement weather there was a good attendance and a most enjoyable evening resulted. Splendid music was supplied by Mr T. H. Midgley’s orchestra, an extra being played by Mrs A. Gibson of Papakura. Mr J. S. Wilcox made a most capable master of ceremonies and it was largely due to his efficiency that matters went so smoothly. A Monte Carlo waltz war won by Miss Peggy O’Connor and Mr J. Graham, jnr., and a lucky polonaise by Mrs A. Gibson and Mr W. Parkinson. An exhibition of the American tap dance was given by Miss Norma Johns of Eureka, while Mr W. Bright of Pukekohe, contributed an appreciated vocal solo. Mr Wilcox, on behalf of the division, thanked all who had assisted to provide such a bright evening. A dainty supper was provided and served by the members. NOTES FROM MERCER.
