MANUKAU CRICKET.

VISIT FROM RODNEY. TWO MATCHES PLAYED. On Friday and Saturday last a team from I lie Rodney Cricket Association visited Clevedon and played two oneday matches against the Manukau Association's representatives. The first match resulted in a win for the visitors by 31 runs on the first innings. Rodney in the first innings compiled (Ml runs. Manukau replied with only 59. In Rodney’s second strike they were dismissed for the small total of 35 runs leaving Manukau 67 runs to make to win in 50 minutes. When time was called Manukau had failed to reach its objective bv 14 runs with two wickets still in hand, several of the Manukau batsmen sacrificing their wickets in an endeavour to score runs quickly. In the second match the home team secured an outright win, scoring 94 fnd 126 for 7 wickets declared, against Rodney’s 46 and 54. On the Friday evening the members of the visiting team were the guests of the Manukau Association at a dance in the Clevedon hall. Following are the details of play.
