Mrs Pearson, of North Auckland, is visiting Miss Young, Great South Road, Papakura. Dr. H. Burred, who has acquired Dr. P. R. Gross' practice in Papakura, was reecntly on the staff of the Waikato hospital, Hamilton. Dr. P. R. Gross, of Papakura, has sold his practice and is leaving on a trip to England. He will be accompanied by his daughter, Miss L. Cross. The funeral of Mr Frank Ashton Sellars took place on Sunday afternoon. A short service was held in Christ Church, Papakura. The vicar, the Rev. W. G. Wood, read the first portion of the burial service. Afterwards, the cortege left the church for the Anglican cemetery. The Rev. Wood, after performing the last rites at the graveside, referred to the sudden sad loss of such a promising young man, and expressed heartfelt sympathy on behalf of the local residents to his father, mother, family and relatives. There was a very large attendance, despite heavy rain previous to the time of service. Deceased was an enthusiastic cyclist and his club mates, as a mark of respect, turned out in full force, riding their cycles, about 10 in number, in the procession from the church to the cemetery. Deceased, who was only 17 years of age, was a very well-respected lad in the township and had a large circle of friends. He was employed at Messrs Hawthorn and Munro's Papakura branch, and he was at his usual duties early in the week. On Wednesday, he was successfully operated on for appendicitis, but apparently he had a relapse and passed away on Friday afternoon.
