FARNSWORTH —SERF ELL. i PRETTY WEDDING AT POKENO. I ' j An exceedingly pretty wedding was ; solemnised recently at the residence ! of Mr and Mrs J. A. Serpell, Pokeno ■ Valley, when his eldest daughter, Miss Viola Inez Serpell, became the wife of ; Mr Charles Henry Farnsworth, son of 'Mr and Mrs G. 11. Farnsworth, respected residents of Karaka. The ceremony was performed by Mr T. G. 1 Shilton, Presbyterian minister of Po- ! keno. The front room had been ! transformed into a bower of foliage, 1 festoons of lycopodium and bowls of daffodils and jonquils being used to ad--1 vantage, while above the happy couple was suspended a large wedding bell. Punctually, the radiant hride was led .by her father to the place where the sacred vows were spoken. She wore a gown of white satin, cut in classical style—ankle-length with flared skirt. 1 A beautiful embroidered veil, with clusters of orange blossom and a sheaf of lillies completed the toilet of a handsome bride. She was attended by her sister, Miss. Adella Serpell and Miss Ella Larsen, of Mauku. The latter was the chief bridesmaid, and she wore a lovely frock of daffodil crepc-de-chine. Miss Serpell had a becoming gown of moonbeam rayon taffeta. Both carried shower bouquets of single daffodils and maidenhair fern. Their head-dress was' a cluster of the same Powers and fern caught, in the hair. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Arnold Serpell as best man. Later the. guests repaired, to the dining: room. led by ..the bride ■ and bridegroom, to the accompaniment of ■ wedding music, ably..played by.M'-s Wilson, a friend of the bride's family. Airs Serpell received her guests wearing a brown and red ensemble of ! repp, and carried a bouquet of while ; slocks and maidenhair fern.
